Every time, Shri Krishna Janmashtami or Shi Krishna Janmotsav is celebrated on the Ashtami Tithi of Krishna Paksha in the month of Bhadrapada. According to Hindu tradition Lord Krishna was born in the Rohini Nakshatra on this day.

With the Ashtami Tithi commencing at 15:37 on September 6, 2023, and concluding at 16:14 on September 7, the jubilant observance will gracefully encompass both of these days.

This time, the radiant Shri Krishna Janmashtami jubilee aligns with September 6, as the Rohini Nakshatra and Ashtami Tithi beautifully meet on the very night of Krishna Janmotsav.

Puja Muhurat :

The sacred observance of Shri Janmashtami commences at 1157 pm, with the cherished fests and homage to Laddu Gopal lasting until 1242 am. This year, the divine Krishna Janmashtami aligns with two highly propitious yogic influences: Ravi Yoga and Sarvartha Siddhi Yoga. The day is adorned with the benevolent Sarvartha Siddhi Yoga, ensuring fulfillment of devotees’ desires by Lord Krishna’s grace. Ravi Yoga, beginning at 06:01 am and lasting until 09:20 am the following day, further adds to the auspiciousness of this celebration.

Fasting Times for Janmashtami 2023 :

The Janmashtami fast is a tradition observed after the wondrous birth of Lord Krishna. This year, a special moment awaits devotees as they can break their fast, known as Janmashtami’s Paran, after 12:42 in the midnight sky. And for those celebrating Janmashtami after the sun has risen on the following day, the festivities can commence from 06:02 am on 7th September.
