On this day in the time 1956, all the Kannada language speaking areas of South India were unified and the state of Karnataka was established. Celebrating this day is a memorial of the literal significance of our state and is important as a symbol of our indigenous concinnity.

In the 1950s there was a growing demand to unify all Kannada language speaking areas into one state. As a result, demurrers, demonstrations and erudite movements arose.

As a result of the 1956 Act, the Kannada- speaking areas of the Bombay Presidency, Madras Presidency, the Princely State of Hyderabad and the old State of Mysore were united as a new state on 1 November 1956. This new state was originally called’ Mysore State’.
In 1973, the name’ Karnataka’ was established to more represent all the Kannada- speaking regions of the state. Karnataka Foundation Day Significance as a National Festival Karnataka Foundation Day is celebrated as a government vacation in the state of Karnataka and is madly celebrated as an important state jubilee by Kannadigas across the world.
