Guru Gobind Singh Ji was born on December 2, 1666 in Patna, Bihar. He was the son of Guru Tegh Bahadur( 9th practitioner) and Mata Gujri. In 1956, his father Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji was executed by Mughal emperor Aurangzeb for refusing to convert to Islam.
This woeful incident gave Guru Gobind Singh Ji the responsibility of guiding the leadership of Sikhism. On the day of Baisakhi in 1676, at the age of just 9, he was placarded the tenth practitioner of the Sikhs. practitioner Gobind Singh ji devoted his life to taking the Sikh society to new heights.
