Prime Minister Modi has unveiled the names of the lunar wharf spots’ Shivshakti Point’ for the success of Chandrayaan- 3, and’ Tiranga Point’ for the mishap of Chandrayaan- 2. This disclosure comes ahead of National Space Day on August 23rd.

Girdled by a gathering meant to celebrate the remarkable feat of Chandrayaan- 3, Prime Minister Narendra Modi unveiled the names of two pivotal lunar resting points. These designations are intertwined with the point where Chandrayaan- 3 gracefully alighted and the locale from which Chandrayaan- 2, regrettably, faced a grueling wharf occasion.

This declaration followed Prime Minister Modi’s recent expedition to the ISRO Telemetry, Tracking, and Command Network Mission Control Complex nestled in Bangalore’s heart. During the visit, he inaugurated two sites named ‘Shivshakti Point’ and ‘Tricolour Point,’ symbolizing the achievements of these locations.

In August 2023, the spot on the southern pole of the Moon where Chandrayaan-3 successfully landed will be named ‘Shivshakti Point.’ Additionally, the area where the Chandrayaan-2 lander unfortunately met with an accident in 2019 will now be known as the ‘Tricolour Point.’ This renaming aims to create a more human-friendly and accessible identity for these significant locations.
